Work may include evening hours.
Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Director of Administrative Services.
Qualification Requirements Associates/Technical degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities General knowledge of standard office and receptionist procedures and the operation of the switchboard.
General knowledge of the functions and activities of the public school system.
Ability to speak clearly.
Ability to understand and follow written and oral directions.
Skill in the use of Word and Excel as well as standard office, computer and word processing equipment.
Knowledge of LINQ Timekeeper system Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors and the general public.
Ability to organize and perform work independently Ability to meet the public effectively and maintain a positive attitude under stress Highly organized, able to multi-task and self-direct Salary Grade 61 Reports to Director of Administrative Services Essential Functions-- Greets families, staff and general public, helping and/or directing them to the appropriate office or department.
Operates a console telephone or private branch telephone switchboard receiving incoming calls and making proper connections.
Maintains and distributes the Education Center phone and email directories.
May take and transmit messages to the appropriate party.
Provides general information regarding school system activities and programs to the public.
Administrative Assistant I Arranges switchboard to receive night connections.
May sort, collate, and distribute materials.
Composes and directs correspondence using various office equipment and venues to include email, fax, mail, copier, software programs.
Maintains the District Board Room, Conference/Meeting Rooms schedule and calendar.
Monitors Ed Center Lobby Guard entry for visitors.
Distribute USPS mail in staff/school mailboxes.
Distribute morning UPSP PO Box mail that is delivered by courier.
Maintain and update staff/school in-house mailboxes.
Send State Courier Mail and check the State Courier Mailbox.
Maintain Pitney Bowes Meter and apply postage to outgoing mail.
Contact person for couriers for questions, issues, absences, and notifies schools of schedule changes.
Maintains Driver Education driver timesheets and payroll.
Maintains Student Driver Education payment sheet by monitoring K12 Payment Center and by handling SNP waiver forms and processing.
Maintains database of Driver Education driver hours and days for annual state reporting.
Verify student birthdates in PowerSchool for Driver Education Order and disperse forms for Driver Education, as needed Routes Student Bullying Reports to designated school sites Schedule BOE bi-monthly meetings in the Boardroom.
Maintains the official Board Policy Binder Issue Cabarrus County School Senior Citizen Gold Cards, maintain database.
Issue Lobby Guards to Education Center Staff and eligible CCS Staff.
Assist with emergency drills.
Run quarterly Toshiba reports for reception area & admin.
Service.
Maintain Toshiba copiers.
Manage vending machine refunds and service visits.
Assists staff with other clerical duties as requested.
Flexes schedule as approved by supervisor to cover front desk during board meetings.
Performs other related tasks as required.
Physical Requirements This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force.
Administrative Assistant I Work regularly requires speaking or hearing, frequently requires standing, walking and sitting and occasionally requires using hands to finger, handle or feel, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, lifting and repetitive motions.
Work has standard vision requirements.
Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly.
Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound.
Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data.
Work has no exposure to environmental conditions.
Work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.

business office, light traffic).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
