Summary

The Internal Auditor will conduct internal auditing verification activities at the assigned Perdue Prepared Foods facility to assure continued compliance to required British Retail Consortium (BRC), Process Verified Program (PVP), Organic, Gluten Free, and Perdue quality and food safety policies.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Conducts audit activities utilizing Perdue internal audit instruments for Perdue certification programs and compliance with Perdue quality and food safety policies.

Generates reports of findings and assure plant responses are completed within the required timeline and approve responses based on appropriate root cause identification and elimination for all non-conformances.

Creates, maintains and modifies audit instruments as needed.

Updates and maintains trend reports and audit schedules.

Communicates trends and issues to the Director of Operations and QA Manager as needed.

Participates in annual reviews of programs and 3-year reviews of the BRC standards for revisions to programs and audit tools to assure continued compliance and acceptable external audits.

Some travel may be required for training or to assist other Perdue locations.

Generally Monday-Friday, however, weekend work may be required as needed, or if within an audit scope. This position will also work a split shift that starts at 10:
00 am.

Minimum Education

High school or equivalent required. Some college-level courses with an Associate of Arts Degree or Bachelor of Science or Arts degree preferred.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following:
Exposed to climate-controlled office environments, outside conditions and processing plant conditions. Physical ability to travel to other Perdue complex locations and inspect facilities. Requires occasional out of town travel and overnight trips. Work in wet and damp environments with temperatures of 34 F to 85 F and at times below 0 F. Exposure to Sodium Hydroxide residues (caustic), Ammonia (NH4), Iodine (I), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), and Chlorine (Cl2). Noise levels of 95.1 dB and at times over 3%. Continuously standing and walking on slippery concrete.

When in a plant environment:
Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm. Able to stand for several hours. Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.

Experience Requirements

Must have experience in Manufacturing Facilities, previous auditing or continuous improvement experience, and be familiar with Microsoft computer software. 3 plus years experience preferably in an auditing or Continuous Improvement type position.

Experience Preferred

Experience in food quality and/or safety. Preferred 3
years experience in an auditing or Continuous Improvement role.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
