Vehicle Description Lot #1971 Chevrolet Longhorn C30 Custom Camper Truck Reportedly less than 1500 of these unique Custom Camper Edition Trucks were produced in 1971.
The boys at General Motors finally decided to listen to the request of the serious campers here in the US.
Their answer was to build a Heavy Duty 1 Ton rated Pickup Truck, that was designed for the sole purpose of hauling/pulling campers.
It came standard with an extra long 8.
5 feet bed, heavy Duty Suspension and well, pretty much Heavy Duty everything.
They called it the Longhorn.
Chevrolet knew that this Truck was not for everyone, so therefore the limited production.
This particular example comes our way from right here in North Carolina.
It comes factory equipped with the aforementioned heavy Duty package, 8 Lug Wheels and options consisting of Factory Air Conditioning, Turbo 400 Automatic Transmission, 350 CI V-8 Engine, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Tilt Steering Column, Tinted Glass and Special Longhorn Package Custom Interior.
Seller says that this Truck has just undergone a complete repaint in its original factory yellow paint, a complete wooden bed restoration and Alloy wheels.
Seller says that this truck drives amazingly and the original wheels and hubcaps will go with the sale.
Can you imagine running down Route 66 with your Airstream hooked to the bumper? How cool is that!!! For more information about this truck or the September 24 Auction in Concord, NC, please call Tim Tuck at 704-400-1127.
