Vehicle Description STK 3261 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Chevrolet introduced the C2 Corvette Stringray in 1963, - the 'Split Window' coupe.
This fully restored 1963 Stringray is a magnificent example of the car that many consider to be the 'Holy Grail' of the Corvette.
The current owner has shown this award-winning Corvette at some of the most prestigious classic car events in the country including the Hilton Head Concours Show.
It has been NCAS flight winner and was a Senior AACA candidate.
The professional restoration (2002) of the exterior is superb, The Solid Red finish is accented with 'Quick Take Off/Knock-Off'' alloy wheels that mount Coker whitewall bias ply tires.
(Based on sample window sticker, these were optioned on the car as original equipment.
) Chrome is outstanding and the dual '63-only hood grilles look superb.
The fully restored black vinyl interior is virtually like new.
A factory AM 'Signal-Seeking' radio hums nicely, but does not sing right now - needs some TLC.
There is a beautiful wheel, tinted glass, new weather stripping and all gauges including the clock are functional.
The original engine was a 327ci/300hp small-block.
This 327ci block is not matching numbers, but is the correct '63 year 327ci engine.
We believe that cylinder heads are from a '68 327/300 engine.
This motor has been professionally rebuilt to stock specs and sounds magnificent.
Every detail appears factory original including the chrome ignition shielding and rams-horn exhaust manifolds.
The motor is backed by a 3-speed manual gearbox with Muncie shifter.
(This is somewhat rare as the 4-speed was a popular option.
) The chassis features manual steering and 4-wheel drum brakes.
Suspension, brake and exhaust components have been renewed.
If you are looking for a carefully restored Corvette split-window, you need to inspect this Stingray - you will not be disappointed.
