Pontiac introduced the concept in 1964 and the second-gen GTO debuted for the '68 model year.
It was based on the mid-size Lemans chassis with potent engine/suspension upgrades and GTO body visual enhancements.
The second-gen GTO was somewhat larger than the original, but a much better all-around car.
According to the VIN, our 2-owner 1970 GTO convertible is a '42 code' factory GTO.
